Why Use a UK-Based Arabic Translator?
Arabic-English certification built for UKVI, the Home Office, UK courts and Russell Group universities.
Native Arabic, UK-Based
Native Arabic translators working in the UK. Familiar with both Arab institutional terminology (MOFA, MOI, notary chambers, sharia courts, kaatib al-adl, mudir al-jinsiyya) and the UK receiving authority's expectations. Coverage across Gulf, Levant, Egyptian and Maghrebi variants.
Arab Legal & Civil Systems
Kitab a-l-nikah (marriage contract), tasrih al-mawaleed (birth notification), mahkamat al-usra (family court) rulings, notarial acts and Ministry of Justice attestations. Arabic legal and administrative terminology rendered with a plain-English equivalent Home Office and UK court staff will recognise.
UKVI Immigration Expertise
Arabic civil-status documents for Spouse (Appendix FM), Skilled Worker, ILR, British Citizenship (Naturalisation), Ukraine Family Scheme (for Syrian and Palestinian holders of Ukrainian residency), and asylum route Preliminary Information Questionnaires (PIQ).
Business & Regulatory Arabic
Gulf commercial registry extracts, board resolutions, Islamic finance contracts (murabaha, ijara, sukuk), UAE Chamber of Commerce filings and Saudi Ministry of Commerce documents for Companies House filings, HMRC evidence bundles and UK contract enforcement.

UKVI Requirements for Arabic Documents
Certified English Translation
Every Arabic document must be accompanied by a certified English translation for UKVI, HM Passport Office and UK court submission (UKVI Para 39B).
Signed Statement of Truth
Translator provides a signed Statement of Truth confirming the translation is a true and accurate rendering of the Arabic source document.
Translator Credentials Included
Translator's full name, UK address, telephone and signature must appear on the translation, together with the date of translation.
Source-Formatting Mirrored
Pagination, stamps, seals and RTL layout of the Arabic source are preserved and clearly noted, so the caseworker can cross-check against the original.
Why Arabic→English Certified Translation Is Not Trivial
What separates a UK Home Office / court-ready translation from a machine-translated draft.
Diglossia (MSA vs Dialects)
Formal documents use Modern Standard Arabic (Fusha, MSA), which is uniform across the Arab world. Personal letters, WhatsApp evidence and witness statements often use regional dialect (Egyptian, Levantine, Gulf, Maghrebi). The correct native speaker for the variant matters for the substance to survive the render.
Legal & Civil Terminology
Mahkamat al-usra (family court), mahkamat al-jinayat (criminal court), kaatib al-adl (notary public), mudir al-jinsiyya (director of citizenship). These institutions have no exact UK equivalent, and rendering them with a Home Office-recognisable gloss avoids caseworker follow-up.
Hijri (AH) vs Gregorian (CE) Dates
Saudi and Gulf civil-registry documents often carry Hijri dates. Conversion to Gregorian is shown alongside the source date, so a UKVI caseworker can validate age, marriage duration and residence periods without a separate calendar exercise.
Name Transliteration & ICAO 9303
Arabic names transliterate to Latin script in multiple ways (Mohammed / Mohamed / Muhammad / Mahomet). We use ICAO 9303 (the passport standard) and preserve the exact spelling that appears on the client's UK Home Office record so name-matching does not fail across evidence bundles.
Education (UK ENIC)
Tawjihi (secondary), bakalorius (bachelor), majistir (master), duktura (doctorate). Egyptian, Gulf, Levant and Maghreb education systems each map slightly differently to the UK ENIC (formerly NARIC) framework, and we annotate the equivalent so UK universities and Home Office Skilled Worker teams can score them correctly.
Professional Qualifications
Arabic professional titles (tabib, muhamin, muhandis, saydali) are rendered with the closest UK title plus the Arabic source, supporting GMC / NMC / GTC / SRA / GPhC recognition applications.

Certified translation runs both ways from this page. Arabic civil-status documents (shahadat milad, aqd zawaj, shahadat wafat, hukm at-talaq) render into English for UKVI, the Home Office, HM Passport Office, UK courts, UK ENIC (formerly NARIC) and Russell Group admissions. UK-issued documents render into Arabic for MOFA attestation chains, Arab civil-registry filings, employer letters used for Gulf work permits, Islamic marriage registration in Saudi Arabia or the UAE, and dual-citizenship files for Arab consular use. The Statement of Truth is issued in Arabic when the receiving authority requires it, and in English by default.
Arab League Coverage: 22 Countries, One Formal Register
Arabic-language documents reach us from every corner of the Arab world. Gulf: Saudi Arabia (KSA), UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Yemen. Levant: Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Iraq. North Africa (Maghreb + Nile): Egypt, Sudan, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania. Horn of Africa: Somalia, Djibouti, Comoros. Every civil-registry document is written in Modern Standard Arabic regardless of country of issue, so a Riyadh birth certificate reads structurally the same as a Tunis one. Local terminology, court hierarchies and notarisation chains differ significantly and are annotated in-line so a UK caseworker can validate the source without needing to know a specific national bureaucracy.
MOFA Attestation Chains and Apostille Alternatives
Most Arab states are not Hague Convention signatories (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Egypt, Iraq, Sudan, Libya, Yemen). Documents from these countries do not carry an apostille; instead they run through a Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) attestation chain, then a UK embassy attestation, then the FCDO Legalisation Office in London. Morocco and Tunisia are Hague signatories and use the standard apostille. We advise on the chain up front and can point the client to the current MOFA / FCDO fee structure so there are no surprises after the translation is delivered. See our UK apostille and legalisation guide for the FCDO side.
Turnaround by Document Length
Standard delivery covers documents of one to three pages within 24 working hours. Longer bundles run to 36 hours for four to six pages, 48 hours for seven to ten pages, and are confirmed individually beyond eleven pages so we can match the right translator pair to the volume without compromising the two-step review. All delivery windows are working windows, calculated from the moment a clean, legible scan is received.
