UK Interpreter FAQ
How quickly can you get an interpreter to a UK hearing or appointment?
Same-day confirmation is standard for Polish, Ukrainian and Russian. Urgent Crown Court, Magistrates', police-station or A&E requests are typically confirmed within 30 to 60 minutes during UK business hours.
How much does a UK interpreter cost?
Remote interpreting (phone or video) is billed per 30 minutes from £39.99. On-site business or medical interpreting is £49.99 per hour with a 2-hour minimum. Court and legal interpreting is £59.99 per hour with a 2-hour minimum. All rates are UK sterling and fixed in writing before the assignment. Travel outside London is quoted upfront.
How do I hire and book an interpreter for a meeting?
Tell us the setting (business meeting, hospital, court, school), the language pair, the date and expected duration, and where you need the interpreter to attend or which video platform to join. Confirmation comes back quickly during UK business hours with a fixed price and the interpreter's specialism. Booking form, WhatsApp and phone all work.
Are your interpreters qualified for UK courts and tribunals?
Yes. Our legal interpreters follow NRPSI-style professional standards and are experienced with Crown Court, Magistrates', County, Family and Tribunal proceedings, plus police-station work under PACE Code C and Home Office asylum interviews.
Which UK institutions do you work with?
Regularly: NHS trusts (hospitals, A&E, maternity, mental-health), HM Courts and Tribunals Service, the Home Office (UKVI casework and asylum), DWP (Universal Credit and PIP), HMRC, local authorities, DfE schools (parents' evenings, EHCP reviews) and solicitors' firms handling immigration, family and criminal matters.
Do you cover the whole UK or only London?
On-site coverage is strongest in London and the Home Counties, with regular assignments in Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Remote (phone and video) covers the entire UK: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Do you cover BSL (British Sign Language)?
Yes. We arrange RSLI and NRCPD-registered British Sign Language interpreters for meetings, courts, NHS appointments and workplace assignments. BSL is a distinct language, not signed English. See our BSL interpreter page for the deaf-community context and typical booking patterns.
What confidentiality and data protection standards apply?
Every interpreter signs an NDA. UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 apply to all identifying information. NHS work follows the NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) and Caldicott Principles. Legal work carries legal professional privilege where the interpreter attends as an agent of the solicitor.
